LWV National Day of Action on Redistricting

LWVUS is planning a national day of action on April 29 calling attention to the need for fair redistricting. The goal is to have local or regional events including a wide mix of supporters.

Supporting LACRA is a part of this effort.

Gerrymandering is a way in which politicians draw district lines so that they select their constituents rather than constituents determining their elected officials. It’s been used by politicians for decades to maintain their power.

LACRA can make a difference. If adopted, it would set criteria for drawing new districts, provide a process for public input, and allow for greater transparency. Details about LACRA can be found here.
